Commemoration of 80 Years of the United Nations System

The United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) took part, on 14 November 2025, in an Open House held in Port‑au‑Prince to mark the 80th anniversary of the United Nations system (UN80). The event brought together representatives of Haitian youth and civil society, providing a unique opportunity to learn about the work of the various UN entities in Haiti.

Participants had the opportunity to engage with UN teams on their experiences and contributions to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the country. The event also served as a moment for collective reflection on future perspectives, highlighting the need for the UN system to be more agile, integrated, and better prepared to address today’s complex global challenges.

This initiative provided a platform to strengthen dialogue with youth and civil society, showcase the UN’s concrete actions in Haiti, and emphasize the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to promote peace, security, and sustainable development.

BINUH reaffirms its commitment to support the development of Haitian society, encourage active youth participation, and support the implementation of the SDGs, in coordination with the broader United Nations system.
