UN official denounces restrictions on political rights ahead of Burundian polls

7 March 2014 – The United Nations human rights chief today voiced concern at the increasing restrictions on civil and political rights in Burundi, following a series of violent acts by the ruling party’s youth wing and the disruption of public meetings organized by opposition parties.

Le Conseil de sécurité proroge le mandat du Bureau de l'ONU jusqu'à la fin de l'année

13 février 2014 – Le Conseil de sécurité a prorogé jeudi le mandat du Bureau des Nations Unies au Burundi (BNUB) jusqu'au 31 décembre 2014, en lui demandant de continuer de soutenir le gouvernement burundais et de préparer le transfert des responsabilités à l'équipe de pays des Nations Unies d'ici la fin de l'année.
